Throughout my years of teaching I have found that my students and the parents of my students are often curious about who I am, my education, how long I've been teaching, etc. Therefore, I have created this page to tell you a little bit about myself.
I was born and raised in San Diego...actually right down the street from Heritage in Bonita. I attended Allen Elementary School, Bonita Vista Middle School, and Bonita Vista High School. I have two older brothers who loved and still love to give me a hard time! Both of my parents are educators who have recently retired.
For college I attended the University of California Irvine (UCI) and graduated with a BA in Social Sciences and a minor in Educational Studies. I continued my education at UCI by completing my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential program and Master's of Arts in Teaching degree in 2002. I completed my student teaching in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.
My teaching career consists of four years in Santa Ana (Orange County), two years in Encinitas at a charter school, and now my second year at Heritage Elementary School in Chula Vista.
I married my wonderful husband, Ali, in July 2004. We have one amazing daughter, Keira, who was born in April 2008. She is wonderful!
